While beautiful at any time of the year, Lost Maples is probably best known for its bright display of fall foliage. Its not quite Vermont, but the large number of Maples and Oaks in the park make for the most colorful foliage found in Texas. This year the color change came quite late because of long string of warm, wet weather. According to the Lost Maples web site, the peak color didn't come this year until Thanksgiving weekend. We visited the park on December 2, about a week after the peak color.

This picture isn't anywhere near Lost Maples. Its a field by my house. I had one shot left and had to finish the roll so I could get it developed.
