Three separate ecosystems
Big Bend includes three separate ecosystems, the desert, the Rio Grande river, and the Chisos Mountains.

Emory Peak
Emory peak is the highest point in Big Bend. Reaching the peak requires a short scramble up sheer rock face. Since the top is narrow and the drop is nearly vertical on all sides, the view in all directions is superb. No picture can fully capture this, but this is one view from the peak.
Big Bend Wildlife
Animals
Big Bend has black bears, mountain lions, scopions, and rattlesnakes... But we didn't see any of those, so you have to settle for pictures of stupid pig-like things called javelina.
